Matcha Genmaicha Loose Leaf

Sugimoto Matcha Genmaicha strikes a nice balance between the rich Sencha and the buttery and nutty toasted rice. The addition of the matcha really grounds this tea - serving to accentuate the nutty, buttery flavors while adding a slight sweetness to the vegetal tones. The matcha also adds an extra layer of umami that lingers on the tongue for a bit after each sip. The flavors are well balanced with no particular note being hidden or overbearing. This is a soothing tea that has earned a regular spot in my tea chest.
